Rules for Using Practice Tables – Rooms – Bars
I. Students must
1. Only enter the practice area accompanied by an instructor or a staff member.
2. Wear the Hospitality Management uniform and tie up their hair into a bun (for female students) during practice.
– Practice at reception, tables, and bars: female students may wear skirt (with hem line not higher than 2 centimeters from the knees) or trousers.
– Practice at hotel rooms: female students must wear trousers.
3. Only bring pens and notebooks to the practice area; put their purse, hat, shoes, etc. at the designated area; tend to their personal belongings (money, phones, etc.); SIU will not bear any responsibility for lost items.
4. Study in the right area/room as designated on the practice schedule.
5. Not smoke, have snacks, or litter in the practice area; keep quiet and clean; refrain from personal work; not move the property and equipment in the practice area without permission from the instructor or staff member.
6. Clean up the practice area before leaving; clean and arrange the equipment/instruments tidily as per the instructor’s or staff member’s guidance.
7. Not bring any combustible, flammable material, weapon, or nationally banned items.
8. In case of loss or deliberate damage, compensate and repurchase a new item of identical size and specification to the lost/damaged equipment/instruments within 15 days. Violations may lead to a permanent ban from entering the practice area, compensation and legal action (along with suspension and possible dismissal from school). All violations shall be recorded into a minute of incident to be reported to the related faculty and SIU for review and appropriate action.
II. Instructors at the practice area must
1. Wear appropriate clothing and tie up their hair into a bun (for female instructors); be gentle.
2. Give their signature to receive/return room keys, equipment, chemicals, and ingredients before and after practice; guide the students on how to properly clean the equipment and the practice area, as well as arrange items tidily before returning the room to a staff member or the Office of Administration & Student Services.
3. Closely monitor and supervise the students’ compliance with the rules, cooperate with the staff member or the Office of Administration & Student Services to record minutes of incidents for violating students.
4. In case of loss, compensate and repurchase a new item of identical size and specification to the lost equipment/instruments within 15 days.
5. Turn off all electronic equipment before leaving to prevent fire hazards; save water, electricity and advise the students to do the same.
6. Not bring any property/equipment out of the practice area without permission from the Executive of Administration & Student Services.
III. Staff member of the practice area/the Office of Administration & Student Services must
1. Hand over and take back room keys, property, equipment/instruments, ingredients, and chemicals to/from the instructor before and after practice.
2. Closely monitor and supervise the students’ and instructors’ compliance with the rules; have the right to refuse entrance to the practice area by violating students.
3. In case of beyond-repair damages to property/equipment, immediately report to the Office of Administration & Student Services for appropriate actions.
4. Turn off all electronic equipment before leaving to prevent fire hazards; save water, electricity and advise the students to do the same.
5. Not bring any property/equipment out of the practice area without permission from the Head of Office of Administration & Student Services.
6. For any loss occurring under their watch, compensate and repurchase a new item of identical size and specification to the lost equipment/instruments within 15 days.
